Lights, Camera, Edinburgh!

April 24, 2009

Drama class says goodbye to the Dana Brown Theater for the summer and are packing their bags for a trip of a life time. Seven students, along with nine chaperones are going to Edinburgh, Scotland to perform one their plays, “Shakespeare Shattered”.

The R. A. Long thespians were nominated by the American High School Festival. They will have only one, two hour rehearsal and then its show time. Their four performances are only a fraction from all excitement taking place in the Fringe Festival. Fringe Festival is the biggest art festival in the world and it’s all hosted in Edinburgh.

Max Brown 12, Rachel Brown 11, Isaac Klander 12, Brittany Vassar 12, Grace Raapana 11, MM Chris London 11, and Wayne Ogle 9 will enjoy a total of three days sight seeing in London and attend at least one play. They will then spend the rest of their ten days walking the streets of Edinburgh where it’s nearly impossible to miss all the action. The city will be crowded with all sorts of genres of plays and skits right there on the sidewalks.

“Last year a man performed sliding on a tarp into a pool,” said Susan Danahue “Everyone just gathered around and it was quite the entertainment”.

Sara Brown, Susan Donahue, Ginny Fleshman, Jenn Fleshman, Michael McElliot, Mary Vansickle, Alyssa Wittrock, John Freeman, and Marty Freeman hardly count has chaperones considering the amount of fun they will have as well.
