RAL Takes Credit: Accredidation Process Completed

Thursday October 22nd, the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools concluded that RAL met standards for accreditation as a high school. The NWAAS determines if the school has all the areas of high school covered.
In the past, it has been the high school’s job to report to the community on how well the school is providing for students and staff.
Now, high schools undergo a three step process starting with developing a school and community profile, then working on beliefs and mission statements, and lastly, reviewing standards.
The beliefs of the school are listed in the student handbook, and tell what RAL believes to be important, such as learning is a life long process; Freedom to be creative stimulates innovation, and other statements that encompass the overall beliefs of our school.
The mission of RAL is to empower all students to empower all students to envision and achieve extraordinary lives.
“It was a success…We met all the standards, and the teams were overall very impressed with the student body” said Mr. Reeves.
During school time on the 22nd, teams of interviewers went around and questioned students and staff about student support and school improvement. This helped the teams determine commendations and recommendations in the conclusive meeting.
“They talked about how great the kids are, how kind, polite, and mature everyone they interviewed was…” said Reeves.
A recommendation was continuing staff meetings for an up to date teaching strategy.
Overall, most schools meet the standards, but succeeding with such flying colors gives us a great snapshot of how our school is doing.
